Happy Birthday, David!

Yesterday was David's 27th birthday. Unfortunately, Mondays are our worst days. Dave has ROTC starting at 5:45am and ends his day getting off of work at 4 am! Poor guy! We didn't even get to celebrate the Saturday before because he had to work. Then we had Hailey's blessing on Sunday, so we didn't have a party. I really hope he doesn't have to work this weekend so we can go on a date (not looking so good at the moment.) At least we will be having cake and icecream this Sunday.

I do love and appreciate all he does for us! He is such a hard worker. Thanks so much honey for all you do! You are an amazing daddy and hubby! Keep up the good work. Thanks for being born! We love you!

Christmas 2009

We had so much fun this Christmas. Olivia loved all of the lights and learned all the words to "Jingle Bells" (yes, she is STILL singing it!) Amy, Derek, Allee and Pierce came for 2 weeks! Boy, did we miss them! I can't believe how much Pierce has grown in such a short amount of time. Olivia love to play with her favorite cousins again! We were spoiled by Santa and each other. Liv loved unwrapping all of her gifts. She got a toy kitchen, lots and lots of clothes (yes!!) and some puzzles and toys. Daddy finally got what he has been wanting ever since we got married, a shotgun. And I absolutely love my G5 grill!
We were able to go to Temple Square and see the lights. Only this year was a bit more eventful than ever. Dave was holding Liv's hand when she fell on some ice. I have never heard her so upset before! We went into the south visitor's center to sit down and figure out what was wrong. Livie freaked out whenever someone would touch her arm. She wouldn't even let me take her coat off! So when we got home, we decided to take her to the ER. I am so glad we did! Her elbow was partially dislocated! The doctors popped it back in (but boy did she scream!) We were so fortunate to know the PA and he taught us how to relocate it if it happened again. I am so glad he did because we had to do it a couple days later. Luckily, we have not had to do it since. She was pretty traumatize by the whole thing. Every so often she will say, "My arm got a bonk last night." And I'll say something like, "Oh no! Are you ok?" And she will say, "The doctors made it better and Mommy kissed it better!" She will even point to her left elbow and show you where it hurt. I am curious to see how long this will last.
For the Bolduc family Christmas party this year, we went for a sleigh ride at Hardware Ranch. It was so fun and Livie loved all of the "reindeers" Then we went to my parents house for lunch and after the boys went to the church to play some "friendly" basketball. Upon returning, many of the players headed straight for ice and pills (some of you "boys" are sure getting old!)
We had such a great holiday! Wish it could have lasted longer! We were so sad to see the Carlsen's leave. At least once a day, Olivia will say, "He calls you, 'Avva.' He calls you, 'Avva'!" (the first a is pronounced long, like in father and the last is the short a sound.) That is what Pierce calls Livie. She sure misses them!

Olivia's 2nd Birthday Party

Olivia's party was everything I wanted it to be. She had so much fun playing with her friend, Sadie. They played with shape stickers and decorated their gift bags. We had Olivia's swimming pool filled with balloons and ball pit balls. The girls loved sitting in the pool with the balls and balloons! I made jumbo soft blocks with her name on them. You can see them in the background of the video, but they are lots bigger than they look! Livie loves to build towers "high to the sky!" I wish I had more pictures of the party. I asked Dave to bring extra batteries but he thought the batteries in the camera would be fine. Of course they died at the beginning of her party. At least I was able to get this video.

Olivia loved her cake and especially enjoyed eating it! I am so happy that she had such a fun time. I am looking forward for the next year with her; to see how much she grows and develops.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Olivia!

Happy Birthday! I am so glad that you are in our family. You bring so much sunshine and life to our fam. I love you, lots and lots!

So today was a great day. We had Liv's favorite breakfast, pancakes. Her favorite lunch, mac and cheese. And topped off with her favorite dinner, pizza (Daddy was so excited for pizza!) We played a lot and did just whatever Olivia wanted to do. It was so fun! Then Ammon and Lucy came over and played while Melanie and I finished the cake. She had such a blast playing with "the kids."

Can't wait for the big party tomorrow! It will be awesome!

Olivia's Cake

Finally, Olivia's birthday cake is finished!! What a process! It all started on Wednesday making fondant. And then more fondant, cakes and gum paste on Thursday. Topping off with decorating on Friday. But I love how it turned out! I can't wait to come up with something fun for next year!

It's Coming!

I can't believe that it has been almost two years since Olivia entered our family. It is so crazy how fast they grow and develop! I have been busy working on party preparations, so sorry there's no pictures today. I promise I will post all about the holidays after Liv's birthday.

Olivia has grown so fast. The past year she has learned a lot! She can count to 13 and count backwards from 10. She knows just about every primary song that I know. We have been singing "Latter-day Prophets" lately and she is getting really good at it. She knows all of the last names if I say the first names! She can get into EVERYTHING! Olivia has mastered child proof cupboards and doors. She can even unlock the front door sometimes (yes, this does cause quite a problem some days. Thank goodness for deadbolts!) She knows her whole alphabet (and can recognize most of them) and loves to "read" books. Goodnight Moon, any Curious George story and The Polar Express are just a few of the books she "reads" She can put on her shoes, climb out of her crib, drink from a regular glass and build block towers taller than she is! She knows her shapes and colors and can repeat any word she hears (thanks aunts for teaching her "Stephie did it!") Boy, what a busy year it has been!

I am so very grateful for the beautiful daughter I have! She is so much fun and keeps me on my toes. I never thought I could be challenged this much and have so much joy doing it! I love you Olivia! I'm so excited to spend the next year with you and see what else you learn.
