A Special Spirit

On Sunday, we went to visit Dave's parents. We had a good time and finally met our newest niece. Olivia played so well with Brooke and Arailia; she shared her fruit snacks and toys and made sure to take turns with toys. As we were getting ready to leave, Lee asked for a blessing from Dave and Seth. So someone grabbed a chair and set it in the middle of the room, while Olivia and I cleaned up toys. When we were through, I told Olivia, "Go find a seat so Daddy can give Grandpa a special blessing." She looked at me and said okay. Olivia headed straight for the chair in the middle of the room, climbed up, put both her hands on her head and said, "Daddy put hands on Livie's head?" She wanted a blessing from her Daddy! I couldn't hold back the tears. So David gave her a blessing and after she said amen, she would not stop telling us that her Daddy put his hands on her head.
Each and every day I see the kind of special spirit Heavenly Father has blessed us with. I can already see her strong testimony and know that she is incredibly choice. I love having her in our family!

Beautiful Girl

I sure love my beautiful little girl! And lately she sure is growing up so fast!
So much personality! I love spending time with my girl. Daddy has been really busy with work, drill, school and ROTC. So Liv and I are getting lots of girl time.

Thanks Olivia for being in our family! You bring so much beauty and joy. Love you lots!

Home Repairs

FINALLY!!
This weekend we were able to tear out the flooring in the kitchen and dinning room. What a project! The installation wasn't so bad. Boy, I'll never become a professional tile remover! Of course the prior owners didn't make it easy on us either. They actually just glued (or what ever that cement like stuff is) the tiles right on to the cement!! The only way we could get it out was by hitting it with sledge hammers! My little worker bees. I am surprised that they actually smiled for the picture! They worked so hard. Other bad thing about tearing out tile: all of the dust/powder it creates gets EVERYWHERE! Good thing I was already planning on re-staining the cupboards, there were tile shards stuck in the doors! This is just a sneak peek of the new floor. I am going to take more pictures and let you see them when everything gets done (we only have the painting left.)
I just can't even describe the relief I feel to finally have this project done (well, mostly!) I love the floor! It is so nice in the mornings to be able to walk bare foot and not freeze on the stupid tile. Keep checking in, I'll post pics of the whole room when it's done!

Random Things

These are just some random pictures that have been taken the past couple of weeks.Getting ready for dancing.
Olivia loves that Daddy is in the Air Force. Everytime he is in his uniform, she says, "Daddy's in the Air Force!" The other day, Livie found David's hat, put it on and said, "Look Mommy! Livie's in the Air Force!" What a cutie!

One morning, we went down for breakfast and as I was getting it ready, I saw Livie swipe something from off the counter. So I finished what I was doing and peeked in the front room. She had the bananas and of course had to take them apart so she could put them in a straight line.

Coloring Easter Eggs 2010

This year Easter was pretty crazy. All weekend we were trying to finish our flooring. Poor Olivia was so neglected. Olivia LOVED decorating eggs. I didn't cook very many because she wasn't very into it last year. Livie was so upset when all the eggs were colored, she wanted to do more!

Daddy showed her how to use the little egg dipper thingy. She was so proud of herself! What a big girl!
Olivia had so much fun (especially sitting on Daddy's lap!)
