Olivia's Valentine's Day Outfit

Yes, I know that Valentine's Day was a few weeks ago, but I was unable to get a picture of her in her outfit. Wish she would have been a bit more cooperative with the camera! I really love having a girl that I can make all these girly things for! And yes, her hair is in a french braid! I love it like that! She holds so still and lets me do whatever I want with her hair. We also painted finger and toe nails today. She wanted her fingers blue. To compromise, we painted fingers purple and toes blue. I can't believe how grown up she is. Olivia doesn't even act like a toddler any more. Sad and fun at the same time.

Silly Girl!

The other day I was making dinner and letting Livie play with her foam stickers. She was playing in the dinning room on the floor putting the stickers on her Super Why coloring book. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw munchkin dart across the kitchen and into the living room. I took a quick peek into the living room and didn't see her anywhere. Which always means she is hiding in the corner between the couch and love seat. As I walked over to her favorite corner, she jumped up and said, "Boo! You scared me!" It is her thing she has been doing/saying lately, super funny! I had to laugh at how she looked (and take a picture!) She decided she needed to take off her shirt and do a little body art. I love that she picked out the circles and put them in a neat line. Olivia is always putting things in straight lines. The alphabet magnets on our fridge are organized by color and each color group is in its own straight line. She always does it with stickers, puzzle pieces, stuffed animals; all of her toys. I love her little quirks! Thanks Olivia for always being an entertaining adventure!

Valentine's Day

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

I do really love this holiday. I love spending time making valentines and gifts. We had a good day. We went to church, then came home for an easy lunch and good nap (and not just for Olivia!) Then I made lasagna and we took it to my parent's house to have dinner. We passed out Olivia's valentines to Gra, Papa, Great, Grandpa, Grandma and Grandpa, Christy and Brooke. It was so fun to give gifts that Olivia had made all by herself. When we came home, I had these bags on each of our chairs. In them contained our gifts to each other. We had a great day! I even received flowers even though every year I tell Dave to not waste money on them. I am so glad that he knows me well enough to know that deep down, I really want the flowers! Thanks Hon, they're beautiful.

I love my little family so much!

Ew Yuck!!

So, last week I was sewing and needed something from my craft desk. I pulled out my small cutting mat to find the corner a little wet. I thought that it was pretty weird and figured Liv had spilled something that I didn't notice. So I proceeded to move the desk. So gross! The floor was soaking wet and we had mold taking over the baseboards and wall!
Needless to say, this week has been phone call after phone call, estimate after estimate! Two companies think the water is coming from the outside (fingers crossed, cuz the HOA would have to pay for it!) One has this crazy story about condensation in the house, strange since it is only the one corner that is wet and this problem hasn't presented itself in the 3 winters that we have lived here! We were suppose to get the last of the estimates today, but didn't. Here's to tomorrow and hopefully getting those! Crazy that mold and water damage removal costs over $3000! That doesn't even include repairing! All of our laminate will have to be torn up and replaced. I have pictures, but trust me, you don't want to see them! (For those that do, stop by my house sometime. I'm sure it will take 50 years for the HOA to kick it in the butt!)
Sigh. I wish that was the end of it. Last week the headlight went out on the car. We replaced the bulb (we've done that more that we should with this car!) to no avail. So in goes the car to a mechanic. No worries, we haven't gotten a fix it ticket. We do however get to pay almost $800 for diagnostic and repair! Can't wait to write out that check on Friday!
Sorry for the bad news post. The rest of our life has been consisting of David's school, ROTC, studying for the AFOQT (Air Force Officer's Qualifying Test), work, Guard, dancing and trying to slide in a few fun things to keep from going crazy! We had a super fun play group today. We had a valentines party that went so well! I am so glad that I can take Olivia out to play with kids her age. She really needs it since she doesn't get to play with Daddy much.
Thanks for sticking this one out! I promise my next post will have pictures!

How I Know She's My Girl

This is how I KNOW that Olivia is my girl . . .

Yes, we both love OREO's! The first time she had one, she totally ate it "the right way." Ya know, twisted and pulled! Funny thing is, Dave and I don't eat them that way! Once Daddy showed her how to dip them in milk, it was hello milk, goodbye twist and pull!
